About Schuyler

Schuyler Tansey is an aspiring educator and community advocate currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born and raised in midtown Manhattan, New York City, she developed an early appreciation for diverse communities and the importance of service.

Schuyler began her collegiate studies at Tulane University before transferring to Xavier University to focus specifically on elementary education, a field aligned with her long-term commitment to foundational learning and youth development. Her academic path reflects a thoughtful decision to pursue the environment and program best suited to her professional goals. She also broadened her perspective through a semester abroad at Richmond University in London, where she gained international insight into education systems and cultural learning environments.

Beyond the classroom, Schuyler has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. She has volunteered in Mingo County, West Virginia, helping build homes for families in need, and has worked with the Romero Center in Camden, New Jersey. In New York, she has supported initiatives through St. James Church and participated in tutoring programs at The Loyola School. She has also served with St. Francis Seraph Ministries, further deepening her experience in outreach and service.

Schuyler’s interests center on education, mentorship, and community engagement. She believes that early childhood education plays a critical role in long-term academic success and personal development. Through her studies and volunteer work, she continues to build the skills and perspective necessary to contribute meaningfully to the field of education and to the communities she serves.
